A 3-floor house was completely redone. The square foot of this property was doubled thanks to the addition of the 3,5m floor to ceiling height basement, that is built underneath the house and garden.

Ford Genk

My final project at uni was based on the industrial site of Ford Genk. Because the car manufacturer Ford decided to close the factory in Genk, about 6000 people lost their job. The 140ha site came available for a new development replacing the old factory. The idea was to use the small space that they initially didn't use. The flat footprint of the factory, could be significantly smaller by utilising multiple levels.
As addition to a masterplan for Ford Genk, one building with an industrial function was designed into detail. To think out of the box and improve the public transport in Belgium, I chose to develop a vertical tram manufacturer.
After graduation, the project one of the 5 projects, that was part of an exhibition in the provincial library. Apart from that, it's been published by the professor in a book about final projects at university.

An urban island in the river of Rotterdam, needed redevelopment. The proposal tackled all the negative points of the island and gives the people living there a better environment. It will make the island more exclusive and a place to be in Rotterdam, because of the park and new social activities.
